Chinese New Year Cocktail

It's 2011 and the Chinese new year is upon us. This Thursday we will see red and gold. It is the year of the rabbit ladies and gentlemen...

Dave Mulder and Jarl de Vries made an interesting drink for this special occasion.
A Chinese Sangria of sorts. The drink is full of taste but easy to drink.

Name: Asian Oasis

The recipe is:
40ml Casa Luna Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile.
20ml Ketel1 Vodka
5ml mango syrup (monin)
2 drops of sesame-chili oil
1 barspoon cane sugar
1 wedge of lime
3 wedges of orange
and two thin slices of orange for garnish.

glass: martini

Method: Chill your martini glass and prepare the garnish. Put all the ingredients together and stir till the sugar is dissolved. Add ice and stir till the drink is cold. Strain into martini glass and add the drops of sesame chili oil on top. Add the garnish on rim and voila. You could add gold flakes or simple gold napkins folded around the stem to make our Chinese New Year complete.

Enjoy.
